Subtle Seduction

Subtle seduction
a glimpse from the corner of her eye
slight creep of a smile from her lips
slowness in her eyes closing as her senses breathe in
moments motionless
anticipating her reaction
the crack of her mouth ready to utter an elusive whisper
her ears drift to the right with the waves of butterflies
bass of the drums dictating the rhythm of her feet
soft but direct, soft but deep
she sits by the wall
her eyes open to him
legs crossed
shoes pointing
now silently calling him
gaze locked
shoulders back
hair long flowing light draped over one shoulder
simple red dress
colour as bold as the lips that tell him to move closer
her fingers slide
quivers down his spine
from the stomach down excitement grows
she rises
she intervenes
she watches
walks
stops
leans
eyes closed
a kiss below his ear
brushes her hand across his knuckles
and walks towards a door
he follows
hoping
wanting
eager for more

Everything That I Used to Be

Everything that I used to be
The savings the endless dreams
Precipitated flown like a wild wind wiping away every part of me
Where did i go
When did time pass away
I had the momentum to finish it all
Was hungry for having it all
Losing always brought me down
A failing piece halt me to a stop
Following currents leading me to places i dont want to go
Unwanted realities no heart can evolve
I look in the mirror with no words to say
Jagged edges of where I can lift again
When did I switch from brushes to charcoal pastels
painting a world now covered in grey patches
Put on my shoes my dress didnt realise
When i cleaned out my space to compromise
I threw out things that made me who I am inside
Or maybe I’ve just grown
Unaware of the vibes I now spring
Unsure of how to clothe and complement new meanings
I look in the mirror trying to read the story written in my eyes
Where is the way for me
How will I know
When will I realise

Rambling | A Session with the Girl Caught in between Thoughts

(Someone asked in passing why I don’t go out as much anymore
why am I so quiet
where did that lively soul go …)

Sitting, feeling pretty, I felt like typing up something while chilling to Alicia’s new beats
like a silent singer, really just messing with the words that speak through the keys

A moment of transformation but really I needed to get out of the repetitive cycles of unrecallable nights
and now here I am
fueling that fire I once owned
new-found wisdom’s got me ready to head out once more
challenge the restrictions of time and resources to do it all
Not phased by the possible negative consequences
boundaries seen as benchmarks inspired to surpass them.
Cold, dark, depression was once a friend of mine,
left that for the light of the sun, the open fields, the mountains, beaches and the calming of the moonlight

Tell me what I will gain when I give in to the reasons of ‘no’
Tell me the achievements of “what if” or “play it safe” when I have so much passion and desire to grow?
Decided to slow it down and plan ahead
Looking at ways to develop my arts, showcase the works that flow from my heart to my head
Family, friends, love; a different light
Freed as I let empty threats go, let opportunities rise, let faith control the days and nights;
no more scorecards, no longer need to be a judge of self nor all that passes and passed by.

As raw as the drum beats of native tribes
As harmonious as the voices of choirs and 90’s girl and boy bands
A phoenix on the rise with new ways of coming alive
Laugh a roar despite the pressures of money grinding work
Smiling despite feeling lonely, working on the dream of sharing my home with that one and only
I’m grateful because I am never alone
I’m happy because through these lines
(as you share your time)
I share my thoughts …

Thank you.

———————–

(Words of the wise once shared with me:
Having thoughts starts change
Getting caught in them can be harmful
Be wise and use them as your artillery
Explore with soul – His lands, our lives, because God blesses us all)

Rambling ¦ end session.

All I Can Give (Every Piece Counts)

A snippet from a writing piece I am working on:

… waking up in the morning with an urge to love this world back … to the way we were before we fell, the beating of its call, the crying and its tears; it calls in so many ways. Now I hear it and I can’t seem to turn away.

What do I have left to offer this world than arms of my abused body, my broken soul and my fearful heart? All I can do is hold you, share that pain with me. Tell me all your problems, tell me what you wished for that didn’t come true. Tell me your dreams. Tell me the impossibles you are seeing. Tell me the possibles that you are believing. I will listen. I will let you lean into my shoulder. I will hum to you melodies I have picked up along the way in the hope that it will soothe your aching for a moment. I can do this for you. I can offer you my support. I can promise you a helping hand, a praying hand. This is all I have. I will give you all I have.
